Framing mobilities in low income communities: A digital photography competition curated by INTALInC, with deadline July 30, 2021.

INTALInC in collaboration with the VREF and Lagos State University, invites photographic and 20 word caption entries from early- and mid-career network members.

To use the medium of photography is a good way to bring visual representations of researchers' work to a wider audience. Images and captions shall correspond to the title of this competition and represent people ‘doing’ transport, accessibility or mobility, or the connections, flows and perspectives linking people to landscapes in global south cities
and their urban peripheries.

Entries must link to one or more of the following themes:

  1. Low income communities or informal settlements;
  2. Disadvantaged and vulnerable groups;
  3. Access to livelihoods, health and wellbeing;
  4. Walking, cycling, NMT or paratransit or travel safety issues in relation to 1-3 above.

Selected entries will appear on INTALInC social media and form part of an online event and exhibition later this year. Prize will be awarded to the three best laureates.

Submission of photographs and captions (no more than 20 words) as well as possible questions shall be addressed here by Friday 30th July 2021.

The VREF invites PhD students and advanced master students from Sub-Saharan African (SSA) universities to apply for a Mobility Grant (MG) to support a visit to another SSA university with up to SEK 25 000.

Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarships for Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency targets supporting the momentum of Lee Schipper’s contribution to the international policy dialogue in these fields.

This yearly award is aimed at supporting young individual researchers and students in is pursuance.
