Biography:
Michel SAVY is a professor at Paris East-Créteil University and École des Ponts - ParisTech, with degrees in civil engineering (École Centrale Paris) and PhD in Economics. His main courses are Freight Transport and Logistics, Production and Territory and he leads a PhD transportation program.
He is a senior searcher in Lab'Urba Laboratory (Paris East University), the director of the Observatory of Transport Policies and Strategies in Europe (OPSTE), editor of Transport/Europe and co-director of the Sino-French Centre for Urban and Regional Planning Studies (Nanjing and Paris East Universities).
He is also a member of the experts' college of the Regulator for Railways Activity, of the French National Commission for Transport Accounts, of various academics and professional associations and member of editorial boards of Revue d'économie régionale et urbaine (Paris), Cahiers scientifiques du transport (Paris), Transport Reviews (London), International Journal of Transport Economics (Pisa). He is also president of the Scientific Council of SETRA (Transport, Roads and Planning Studies Service) and of TDIE (Transport, Development, Intermodality and Environment Association).
He recently was member of the High Level Group on road haulage market of the European Commission.

This yearly award is aimed at supporting young individual researchers and students in is pursuance.
