The Urban Freight Platform in Gothenburg had its 3rd VREF Conference on Urban Freight this mid-October. The conference presented current issues influencing urban freight research and discussed the complexity of designing urban space and managing flows for liveable cities.
The third edition of the International Conference on Urban Freight Conference VREF was held in Gothenburg, Sweden, in mid-October. Speakers and participants from 25 countries attended the event.
Torbjörn Holmström, Chairman of the Board gave a welcome speech. Johan Woxenius, Member of the Scientific Council and Henrik Nolmark participated as representatives of VREF.
The Gothenburg Urban Freight Platform (G-UFP) who co-organized this 3rd conference together with Gothenburg University, has led the development of a book, Urban Logistics, which summarizes much of the results from the Theme Urban Freight. The book will be released in November 2018.

Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarships for Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency targets supporting the momentum of Lee Schipper’s contribution to the international policy dialogue in these fields.
This yearly award is aimed at supporting young individual researchers and students in is pursuance.
