The METRANS' contributions value recognized for its 20th Anniversary through its MetroFreight Center. 

METRANS Transportation Center, University of Southern California (USC), celebrated on Thursday October 4 its 20th Anniversary through a reception followed by a formal dinner given at the USC.

The VREF MetroFreight Center of Excellence (CoE) is an integral part of the METRANS Transportation Center at the University of Southern California (USC). METRANS is celebrating its 20th Anniversary throughout 2018 and recognizing the value of collaboration with those individuals and organizations vested in transportation research, policy and programs.

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, an Anniversary Reception and Dinner Celebration took place at USC for 140 faculty, students and industry leaders in transportation and land use planning professions across the state of California.

T. O'Brien, G.Giuliano and C. Showalter present the METRANS Commemorative Letter sent by the VREF.

During the formal dinner program, Catherine Showalter, MetroFreight Project Manager, presented a Commemorative Letter from the Chairman of the VREF Board, Torbjörn Holmström, to METRANS Director Genevieve Giuliano, and Associate Director Thomas O’Brien. The congratulatory letter acknowledges the contributions of METRANS through its MetroFreight CoE as “one of the most significant and scientifically excellent members of the international academic urban freight community.”

The VREF invites PhD students and early stage researchers to apply for a Study Visit Grant to be supported with up to SEK 30 000.
