New Urban Freight Platform in Gothenburg

The Urban Freight Platform (UFP) is a new initiative on urban freight research based in Sweden.

The goal of the UFP is to organise and facilitate the academic research on urban freight within the context of Northern LEAD at Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg in order to improve the interaction of this inter-disciplinary research community as well as to provide a greater critical mass.

Moreover, the UFP will further enhance links among researchers and practitioners within Sweden as well as improve international cooperation with the VREF Centers of Excellence (CoE) and other international research networks. By doing this, the UFP improves the opportunities for more effective research where skills from various disciplines are required (e.g., architecture, ICT, psychology, marketing/retail, economics and political science). The UFP will make the Gothenburg urban freight research cluster function more effectively and will ensure that the relevance and importance of urban freight and city logistics will be made accessible to a wider public.
