Breakfast seminar on Shipping organised by the Urban Freight Platform on 2016, Januari 11, 09.00-10.30 at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

The Urban Freight Platform invites you to a seminar on shipping, taking place on 11 Januari in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Breakfast seminar: Shipping – Advantages, disadvantages and opportunities

The Urban Freight Platform would like to inform you about an upcoming breakfast seminar on “Shipping – Advantages, disadvantages and opportunities”. As sea ports tend to be located near urban centers while distribution and warehousing facilities serving ports and terminals have been decentralized in recent decades to suburban locations, shipping generates large freight flows that may pass through central areas on their to way suburban production and logistics facilities as well as to regional and global markets, which has negative implications for both the city region’s sustainability and the efficiency of the global distribution networks.

The seminar is hosted by Lighthouse, Swedish Transport Administration and the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. The seminar includes presentations by internationally recognized Professor Jean-Paul Rodrigue, Professor Johan Woxenius and Associate Professor Jerry Olsson.
