Summary:
This paper reviewed the development of China's transportation development process since the reform and opening up in 1978. It gives a full picture of transportation development from aspects of transportation infrastructure, equipment, capacity, and structure. Based on the above description, the paper came up with the current status of transportation system in China, including current transport management structure, existing problems which specifically refer to sluggish integrated transport infrastructure building, insufficient infrastructure investment, high cost, low capacity in innovation etc. The paper gives a general picture of both transport development process and current situation and analyses the problems existing in the system, which can be good tool for central government in problem-solving process.
