Restructuring Public Transport through Bus Rapid Transit: Book Launch

On Monday January 11, 2016, the BRT Center of Excellence launched its latest publication at the 95th Transportation Research Board Meeting (TRB) held in Washington D.C. After five years of an intensive work, the book “Restructuring Public Transport through Bus Rapid Transit” is now released and already considered as a valuable resource for academics and practitioners.

Over one hundred persons from all over the world joined the BRT Center of Excellence to this event.

First, Holger Dalkmann, Director of the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities’s EMBARQ program, gave a short introduction to the book.

The book’s editors Laurel Paget-Seekins, Director of the Strategic Initiatives of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, and Professor Juan Carlos Muñoz, Superintendent of the Centre of Excellence BRT-ALC at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile, expressed a few words about the potential and the outcomes that can be expected of the BRT systems in a near future.
