The Håkan Frisinger award 2010
Professor Bengt Johansson receives the 2010 Håkan Frisinger award
The Håkan Frisinger Foundation for Transportation Research awarded its 2010 scholarship to Professor Bengt Johansson from Lunds University for his internationally successful and practically important research on internal combustion engines.

Bengt Johansson is a professor at the Department for internal combustion engines at Lunds University. He has in his research mainly focused on the area of homogeneous compression engines, HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition).  HCCI technology leads to a higher efficiency, which, in combination with the new fuel, is an important component for the development of freight transport with low environmental and climate impact. Bengt Johansson combines the scientific excellence of diagnostics and analytical methods with a high degree of applicability and relevance for the automotive industry. His research funding and collaborations includes virtually all major Swedish, European, North American and Japanese automotive and engine manufacturers.

The prize was handed out by Håkan Frisinger Foundation at a prize ceremony that took place at AB Volvo on March 7, 2011.
