Biography:

Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Hans-Liudger Dienel was born in Münster, Germany in 1961. He is a founder and director of the nexus Institute and since November 1995, academic director of the Center for Technology and Society at the University of Technology (TU), . Dr. Dienel studied history, philosophy, and engineering from 1983 to 1990 at TU Munich and completed a doctorate there in 1993 about the interaction between academia and industry in technical sciences in and the . The focuses of his research include future studies, participation in urban and technological development, mobility research, and transport policy. In the field of transport, Dr. Dienel has published, among other things, numerous works about transport history, mobility for older people, and leisure transport.
