Juan P. Bocarejo (Universidad de los Andes, Colombia) is a Civil Engineer with 18 years experience, primarily in urban public transport and road infrastructure projects. He obtained a M.S. in Transportation in Université Paris XII —ENPC, and a Ph.D. from Université Paris Est. His research has focused mainly in topics such as policy evaluation, mobility, sustainability and transport economics. He is now associate professor at University de Los Andes in Bogotá, and head of the Research Group in urban and regional sustainability. He also worked as Technical Director of a Consulting Company in Bogota for 8 years, in charge of projects linked with public transport improvement, development of BRT lines and urban impact in Latin America, mainly financed by World Bank and Inter American Bank. He has directed projects including transport demand forecast and modeling, bus operational design, infrastructure design and economic and financial appraisal, all with strong public-private partnership. He has participated in projects regarding the improvement of regulation and institutional transformation.
