VASI-SUFS 2018, VREF Advanced Studies Institute on Sustainable Urban Freight Systems: Accepting nominations until March 23, 2018.

The 2018 VREF Advanced Studies Institute on Sustainable Urban Freight Systems (VASI-SUFS) organized and supported by the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) - Sustainable Urban Freight Systems Centre of Excellence; the University of Southern California - MetroFreight Centre of Excellence; the University of Gothenburg – Urban Freight Platform, and the VREF, will be held at RPI, Troy, New York, August 4 – 11, 2018. The academic institutions are invited to nominate participants before Friday March 23, 2018.

The VASI-SUFS will bring together a select group of Junior Faculty, Post-Docs, and advanced PhD students conducting research on sustainable urban freight systems (UFS). The main goal is to develop a new generation of researchers and practitioners with a holistic view of UFS issues and their solutions that, ultimately, will bring about new paradigms of freight transportation research, education and practice that foster sustainable UFS.

The organizers are now looking for nominations for this event to be held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, August 4 – 11, 2018. Each year the Håkan Frisinger Foundation for Transportation Research awards a scholarship to a prominent researcher.
